OffloadPilot Privacy Policy
Last updated: 14 September 2026
OffloadPilot is a Burger Labs macOS offload utility built for DJI camera media. It inventories, copies and verifies selected files on your Mac. It is an independent product and is not affiliated with DJI.
What OffloadPilot is
OffloadPilot is a sandboxed macOS app. It reads media you select and writes copies, checksums, catalogs and reports on your Mac and on destination drives you choose.
Files, folders and removable media
The app reads only what you select in the system folder picker: the source media you choose, and the Primary and optional Backup destinations you pick. It does not scan your connected drives in the background.
When a card or SSD is connected, macOS may tell OffloadPilot its name so the app can prompt you to choose it. Inspection of that volume starts only after you select it. Source media is not formatted, deleted, moved or rewritten by OffloadPilot. Copy is one-way, from the source to the destinations you choose.
To remember destinations you already approved, OffloadPilot may store security-scoped bookmarks, job-style preferences and optional camera nicknames in UserDefaults on this Mac. Those values are not a copy of your media library.
What stays on your Mac
Photos, videos, captions, CinemaDNG frames, checksums and offload reports are processed locally. They are not uploaded to Burger Labs.
If a clip or sidecar contains GPS, camera model or similar metadata, OffloadPilot may read that metadata locally to build the catalog, reports and optional map view. The app does not request iPhone-style location permission; it only reads what is already in the files you offload.
What may leave the device
OffloadPilot includes a client network entitlement so optional flight-map views can use Apple MapKit / Apple Maps. Those views may contact Apple over the network when a map is shown. Opening Support or Privacy from the app uses the network only when you choose to visit this website.
Media files, checksums and reports are not sent to Burger Labs as part of offload processing.
Third-party services
Optional maps use Apple MapKit. See Apple’s Privacy Policy. Mac App Store purchase, where you buy the app, is processed by Apple. Burger Labs does not receive your payment card details.
The current app does not include advertising, third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDKs.
Accounts, purchases and notifications
No Burger Labs account is required. OffloadPilot is distributed through the Mac App Store. Apple handles that store purchase.
macOS may ask for permission to show local notifications, for example when a likely DJI volume is detected or when an offload finishes. Those notifications stay on your Mac. They are not used for advertising.
Support and privacy questions
If you contact Burger Labs, we receive the email address, message and any screenshots or diagnostic details you choose to send. Please do not attach private flight media unless we specifically request a safe sample and you are authorised to share it.

Security and retention
Information stored in the app remains on your device until you delete it, clear app data, or uninstall the app, except where you exported a copy or wrote data to another service such as Apple Health. Email we receive is kept as long as needed to answer and for ordinary business records.
We take reasonable steps to protect correspondence, but no method of storage or transmission is completely secure. Protect your device, keep its software current, and share exports carefully.
