Privacy Policy

OffloadPilot is a macOS offload utility from Burger Labs, purpose-built for DJI camera media. This policy describes what the app actually does with files, metadata and network access. It is not a copy of any other Burger Labs product policy.
Media is processed on your Mac
OffloadPilot reads media you select (or that you confirm after a card is detected) and writes copies, checksums, catalogs and reports on your Mac and on destination drives you choose. Photos, videos, captions, CinemaDNG frames, checksums and offload reports are not uploaded to Burger Labs or to any Burger Labs server.
Filesystem access
The app is sandboxed. It uses folders and volumes needed for offload: a source you confirm, and Primary/Backup destinations you pick in the system folder picker. Access is for app functionality only, not for browsing your Mac in the background.
To remember destinations you already approved, OffloadPilot may store security-scoped bookmarks, job-style preferences and optional camera nicknames in UserDefaults on this Mac. Those values are not a copy of your media library and are not sent to Burger Labs.
Removable media
When a card or SSD is mounted, OffloadPilot may list mounted volumes and, with a read-only sandbox exception for /Volumes, inspect whether a volume looks like camera media (for example a DCIM folder). That inspection is read-only. Offload does not start until you confirm a source.
You can always choose a source with the system folder picker instead. OffloadPilot does not format, delete, move or rewrite source media. Copy is one-way, from source to destinations you choose.
GPS and camera metadata
If a clip or sidecar contains GPS, camera model or similar metadata, OffloadPilot may read that metadata locally to build the catalog, reports and optional map view. Location is not sent to Burger Labs. The app does not request iOS-style location permission; it only reads what is already in the files you offload.
Network access
OffloadPilot includes a client network entitlement so optional flight-map views can use Apple MapKit / Apple Maps. Those views may contact Apple over the network when a map is shown. Opening Support or Privacy from the app also uses the network only when you choose to visit this website.
The app does not include advertising, third-party analytics, or crash-reporting SDKs in this release. Burger Labs does not sell user data from OffloadPilot.
Local notifications
macOS may ask for permission to show local notifications, for example when a likely DJI volume is detected or when an offload finishes. Those notifications stay on your Mac. They are not used for advertising or tracking.
Support email
If you contact Burger Labs, we receive the email address, message and any screenshots or diagnostic details you choose to send. We use that information to answer and troubleshoot. Please do not attach private flight media unless we specifically request a safe sample and you are authorised to share it.
Children
OffloadPilot is not directed at children. Burger Labs does not knowingly collect personal information from children through OffloadPilot. If you believe a child has emailed us personal information, contact us and we will delete it from correspondence records where reasonably possible.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when OffloadPilot’s behaviour or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top of this page will be revised when that happens.
